plainly and simply. My day never has and never will end at 5:00. If I'm not painting or drawing it's learning new skills. Reading, training and more reading. Practice, practice, practice. My main side endeavor outside of the regular day is the Airmail Research Project. It's a 50/50 combination of history and art, my two favorite subjects. I've also become fascinated by the "new media." Web design and flash animation.
   I've been in this field for quite some time now and have seen quite a few changes. It's humbling and makes you feel your age when a fresh faced young intern just out of design school asks, "Mr. Newcomer, what exactly was rubber cement used for?" Just keeping up with the rapidly changing technologies can be a daunting task if not a full time job. I love it, though. And I'll never stop learning."
